Hello friends. If you have been following my office journey here on the blog, then you will have noticed I am no longer in my old office space. I had an entire room to work with there, and you can check that out here, and here.
I actually found the corner office nook more fun to style and design, probably because it is more challenging, and I have always loved a good design dilemma, where you have to incorporate both function and aesthetic, and when you achieve that, oh that is true bliss to me!
So here in my smaller office nook, I had to take stock of everything I already owned, and then look at my new office space with fresh eyes. I did not try to cram everything from my old office into my new one. That is a big mistake!
I did make a list of what I would need, and here’s what I came up with as my essentials or “must-haves”:
- A desk with drawers and a filing cabinet
- A comfortable chair
- A printer
- A desk accessory tray
- A file sorter
- 1-2 magazine file holders
- Accent seating
- An area rug
- A shelf for some decor and storage
- Florals and a few decorative accents for the desk and wall space
- A bulletin board for my printable calendar and motivational quotes

So working with this list, I was able to make clear decisions about which items I would bring into this space, and which would go into storage. If I hadn’t done this, my cozy and chic office nook would have looked crammed and suffocating instead!
Alright, so let’s get to it! Here’s a closer look at my chic and cozy blush home office nook:
As you can see, I have just the right amount of furniture and decor, so the space feels just right. And as you may recall from my previous posts, I need my office space to feel pretty and light, so that whenever I enter this space, I immediately feel inspired and at ease. I definitely achieved that here!
I love and appreciate all of the beautiful natural light that pours in this space. That is precisely why I positioned things the way I did. I like having my desk up against or near the window if possible. I was fortunate that the window sill is the perfect size to house some of desk and office accessories that previously had homes on my large bookshelf and printer table.
It’s really important to me that I have some sort of additional seating in my office space, for two reasons:
- I like to have a cozier, and informal place to sit where I can journal and sip my coffee
- I like to have a place to sit when I take a break from working or blogging, and am still in the office. I often read or chat on the phone here.
For additional accent seating, you may opt for a bench like mine, or, you may want an armchair instead. I already owned this bench, so I used it (and I still absolutely love it!). However, a fabulous armchair would have also worked perfectly in this corner, and it would have met both my requirements for additional seating. I likely would also add a foot stool or ottoman to the armchair to fully achieve the cozy and informal feel to that corner of the office.
Check out some footstools and ottomans here.
This cart I have is perfect for housing all of my notepads, clipboards, and coffee table books. I opted to store those here in decorative bins so that I achieved both function and style here.

The best part about this cart is that I can change up the decor to suit the season. I plan on changing it for fall very soon!
This cart is an Ikea Sunnersta cart, and I spray painted the gold parts myself. As you can see, it is starting to scratch, but I actually like how it appears more rustic this way, so I’ve left it as is! 😀
I have linked everything from my original office in this post.
Some people will tell you that you don’t need an area rug, especially since there is already carpet in this room. So that is your choice lovely. However, I am going to tell you why I love having a luxurious and beautiful area rug in my cute little office nook.
As seen above, I like to sprawl myself on the carpet and do my organizing here!
I also take my online workout appointments here, as well as do my morning stretches and a few yoga poses once in a while!
I absolutely love having this gorgeous rug here because it anchors my office space. It creates a divider, and better yet a boundary of where my office space begins, and where the kids’ area ends. My kids know not to play on my pretty white rug, and they don’t even try to anymore!
Lastly, I truly feel like it sets the tone of my office, that is one of luxury and tranquility, and that is wonderful in my book!
The fun doesn’t stop there! I love everything to be visually pleasing, so that carried over to my desk drawers. I appreciate how when I open my drawers, things are clean, organized, and most importantly, on point with my colour scheme!

My desk is my haven. It is my go to place when I have a bright idea, or when I just need to write. I feel inspired here and like my true self here. Designing a home office that makes you feel like you are already the best version of yourself is priceless. I am so grateful I chose to give myself this space. I hope you choose do that for yourself too. Please don’t be shy if you have any questions about my office, or need some help with setting up your own. I love to help!
