Hello friend,
Welcome to my little slice of peace and serenity. I started this blog as passion project; writing inspirational content has always made my soul dance and my heart come alive. One of my first inspirational posts, “What is your gift?” made me feel I was in heaven. I wrote it over 5 years ago, but I still remember the feeling I felt when the words poured out of me. I felt pure bliss.
At the time, I was on maternity leave from my teaching job, with my second baby, and I had just launched my interior decorating business. I had started to build my website to display my design services, and I remember I felt pulled toward adding a blog page to my site. I didn’t know why at the time, as I was purely planning on taking the design world by storm and working my way up to be a full time decorator. However something about having a blog enticed me, the pull was so strong I could not ignore it, nor did I want to.
I had started blogging about design with decorating tips and how-to posts. Those were so fun to write and put together, and for the first time in a long time I felt smarter then I ever had, using a creative yet practical side of my brain that I didn’t always get to use in the rest of my life. The design posts although creative, were still work.
And this is why the magic I felt when I had written “What is your gift?”, I so easily overlooked. It was so easy to write. The words just flew off my finger tips onto the keyboard, without me really thinking about it, without me having to work at it. Something magical just flowed through me and told me what to say/write/share.
I didn’t know it at the time, but this was my dharma. My true purpose in life, to be a writer of light. To first find self care and then self love in my life, and then ultimately, and naturally, I found spirituality.
My dharma was to share what I’ve learned about wellbeing and personal development both first hand through the trials and tribulations of my life, but also through my readings of many personal and spiritual development books, and also through my specific training as a certified life coach.
Over the last few years, I dove into several areas before finally accepting and embodying my life purpose. I spent time learning and working in photography, interior decorating, home office design, and lifestyle blogging. Each area taught me something about myself, building my self confidence and self trust, and most importantly, leading me to where I am today. Completely immersed in my life purpose, my dharma, as a writer and life coach, helping people just like you learn to love trust and be kind to themselves, to shed what no longer serves them, to find ways to self soothe and ultimately stand in your own personal power and shine your inner light.
We each are made of something unique and special. We each are already enough and deserve to feel our worthiness simply by being who we already are, by coming home to our true selves and no longer forcing things that don’t work, that don’t serve us, and instead honoring what’s been inside each of us all along, our soul, and our truth.
I hope you find the resources in this blog useful in your personal journey. I have still included my design posts as they still serve a purpose for those finding their serene and pleasing space to work in where they can be their best selves. That’s what my home office has always been for me. A beautiful space where immediately upon entering I am in touch with my higher self. Where the rest of the world’s chatter, including the chatter of my own mind, fades away, and I can hear my own inner voice. This is where I do my journaling, meditation, writing, and coaching. The office that started off as merely a novice designer’s dream space evolved into the space that pulled me into my life purpose. By spending time nurturing my own inner self, I’ve been able shine and extend my light outwards onto others, just like you.
So take your time while you’re here. Grab a warm coffee or tea and browse through the office or self care tips, whatever you need in this moment. It’s all related. When you get to feeling good, your life gets going in your favour.
