Home Office•My Home Office•Room Reveals

My Home Office Tour

Hello friends! I’m so glad you’re here ?. I’m even happier to be able to share my new home office with you!

It took a while to complete (and to be honest, it’s still not fully complete…as always I want to add a few more touches, but for now, I’m happy with where I’m at with this space).

So here is the before picture; this is the way the office was set up by the previous owners.

From this, I saw this room had great potential to become the office of my dreams.

At first, I didn’t know if I wanted set up our office as an office for two, so I had put my desk this way (see below), in order to leave room for my husbands desk in the other half of the office.

After a little while, my husband decided he did not need his own office space , so I was free to take over this whole room! Whoohoo! So here is my “after”!

Here’s a close up of my bookshelf:

Pretty Home Office

I looked long and hard for a white, multi-level paper sorter…I lucked out when I found this one at Home Sense. Literally, they were just putting out onto the shelves, and I got my hands on before they could even put it out!

Like what you see? Shop the look! See the complete, shoppable list of everything that’s in my home office! Click here.

The next day I went to a different location, and I found the create/design/inspire desktop organizer, of the same make and style, I had to pinch myself to make sure I was actually seeing things clearly :D.

Pretty Home OfficeI really tried to simplify my shelf styling this time around. Previously I had way too much out on my shelves, and you didn’t know where to look!

Here I have a simple gold and glass vase (which I still want to fill with some pretty floral or greenery), a framed quote, which I feel embodies how I feel when I enter my office (I feel darling whenever I walk in here!), and some pretty pink books and a sketch book that I actually intend to use when sketching out designs for my client projects.

This little nook houses my printer and my file organization. Below the printer table, I have a trash bin (which I plan on spray painting gold one fine day;), and a crate for  recycling.)

Pretty Home Office

The gold wired basket has me scratching my head, I bought it thinking I could keep my fabric samples in them when I’m working on  a  client project, but now I’m thinking I might prefer a wall file sorter in its place. That’s why I haven’t taken the tag off yet! :). Decisions, decisions.

Pretty Home Office

I always buy pretty throw pillows in twos. So when I found this pillow for the chair behind my desk, I  picked up a second pillow just in case I’d need it in the future. If you buy pillows in pairs, at least you can repurpose them on a sofa or a bed later on, when you feel that itch to redecorate…or is that just something that happens to me?

I didn’t have this second chair in my office originally, and it will probably be replaced later buy a cream loveseat or daybed (for the other side of my office, that’s not shown), once I find the perfect one! But for now, this chair completed my room, and I can always pull it up to my desk if I’m meeting with anyone in my office.

I’m also really proud of myself for minimizing the items on top of my desk! I used to fill this paper tray with loose papers, notes, mail, basically anything I was currently working on, or attempting to work on, one day. Now I have made this paper tray a home for my desk accessories, and it looks so much better!

Thank you so much for coming along for a tour of my new favourite space in my home! If you have any questions, please feel free to shoot me an email or just comment below!

Here’s one last look for you 🙂

Have a great day loves! Please feel free to pin these images or share with your friends 🙂

Hey Suzanne! The desk is by Monarch Specialties. I got mine at Bestbuy.com, but you can basically buy it on any major online store…including amazon, wayfair, etc. Thanks for stopping by!

Hello, your office is beautiful! I’m currently about to tackle mine in the same color scheme. I’m wondering if you know what color the paint is? I’m looking for a very light neutral similar to that and can’t quite put my finger on the perfect one.

    Thanks, Jenny

Hi Jenny! Thank you so much ?.
I actually do have one cord that I took out just for the picture! My plan is to tape it to the side of the desk and then run it under my rug, all the way to the outlet behind my desk. I have seen others who have a larger desk, put some decor on that corner behind the computer, so the wires are hidden. Another option is to opt for a desk that has a built in cable solution.. I think IKEA has a couple of those. Hope this helps!

Listening to your fears is not the same as listeni Listening to your fears is not the same as listening to your intuition.
You may mistakenly believe you’ve been listening to yourself, because you’ve been following the directives of that voice inside of you.
However fear also has a voice. And it’s strong and loud. Listening to it will leave you feeling shaky and scared, maybe relieved and in control temporarily, but only if you’re micromanaging every little thing in your life and keeping all external factors in check.

Your intuition on the other hand, is soft and subtle and light. It whispers to you. Your mind has to be still for it to be heard. When you listen to it you feel uplifted, loved, and free.

You may be listening to an inner voice, but ask yourself which one is it?

If you’re constantly on edge, it’s definitely your fears.

There is a different voice inside, it’s your intuition.

When you hear it whisper to you, when you get a sudden impulse or idea to do something, it’s OK to listen to it. Your intuition is your safest guide. Allow it to guide you. It will never lead you wrong. Allow your intuition to show you the way. It’s safe to do so. ✨💕
Know yourself so deeply that others hurtful words Know yourself so deeply that others hurtful words cannot shake you and what you believe about yourself.

Know yourself so well that you know exactly who you are and what you’re about.

Know yourself so well that you know what’s in your own heart and what your intentions were.

Know yourself so well that if others project negativity upon you, you recognize it’s about what’s inside of them, not you.

Know yourself so well that you’re OK with being misunderstood, because you understand yourself. ❤️

There is nothing wrong with you. You’re not brok There is nothing wrong with you.
You’re not broken beyond repair.
You’re not even broken truthfully.
You’ve just been going in the wrong direction.
You’ve been going away from yourself
Instead of toward yourself.
When you’ve gone too far away from your inner self,
You will feel lost, broken, confused, alone, helpless.
This is not a sign of you’ve done it all wrong, that you’ve messed up, or that you’re messed up.
Take these feelings as an indicator of how far or how close you are to your own self, to your own heart.
When you’re in the vicinity of your own heart, you will feel love, joy, peace, optimism.
When you’re far from it, you will feel the emotions that don’t feel so good.
To get back to a better feeling place,
It’s not about controlling the external circumstances in your life.
It’s about pausing, being still, recognizing where you relatively in terms of your inner self and heart.
Are you listening to your self? Or are you listening to others? Are you being led by your fears? (That’s not your true self) or are you following your heart ? (This is your true self )

Take a few deep breaths, put your hand over your heart, and ask it to show you the way.
Listen closely and pay attention to what drops into your mind at this time, that’s your inner self showing you, guiding you to what’s for you. Even if it doesn’t make complete sense to you in that moment, trust it. Your inner self always knows the way to what’s best for you. And you’ll know you’re on the right track because it will feel good. It will feel so good to follow your heart. And it will feel awful not to.
You’re not broken.
You just have to come back home to your true self and allow it to lead and show you the way.
In order to move past what’s hurting you right n In order to move past what’s hurting you right now, you have to move through it. You have to go within it and see your part in it. Once you accept where you are, it can no longer have a hold over you. Something can only hold you when you are fighting it. When you are no longer fighting it, when you see it for what it really is, that it’s happening for you, so you can change and uplevel, so you can finally release what’s not serving you and become the next level you, you will be free of it. You will see the beauty in the experience, and once you see that, it’s only upwards and onwards. Nothing can stop you.
Accept where you are. Own your part in it. See how it made you grow into a version of yourself you were unwilling to become but had to become anyway. You wanted this growth, you wanted this change. Take it in, and rise.

When we struggle and suffer, we may think it’s b When we struggle and suffer, we may think it’s because of our external world and circumstances, but truthfully it’s the push and pull dynamic that’s occurring inside of us.
When we stray away from our inner self, from our intuition, it hurts. And the more self aware we are, the more we feel this.
You’re not too sensitive, and you’re not doing anything wrong. You’re just not listening to yourself and that’s why it’s hard. You can and will feel better when you take a break from your thoughts. When you allow the current moment to take your full attention, and you allow yourself to be present and mindful. Little by little you will hear your inner voice again, because it’s always been there, it never leaves you. It’s you that leaves it.
Little by little, you will start to feel like yourself again, and things will start to get easier and better for you.
Your inner most self is your intuition, and when you give yourself love and quiet out the noise inside and outside of you, you will come back to it, and all of a sudden you won’t feel lost anymore, you will know the way.
