Hello! Welcome to the tour of one of my favourite rooms in our home, our first guest bedroom. We had guests coming to stay with us for 2 weeks, and it was the perfect reason to hustle our butts off and get our guest room finished. And I’m so glad we did!
I’ve been obsessed with gold decor and gold accents for a little while now. So it’s not a big surprise that we incorporated some gold into our guest bedroom! The teal colour was something we already had from our previous home (the lamp, the pillow, and the throw blanket). I decided to keep those items, and add some gold and white touches, to complete the look. I am so happy with the end result; I feel the room is warm, inviting, and fun! When our guests came, we really tried to make their trip to Vancouver really fun and enjoyable, and the tone of the guest room really set the tone for their stay. How cool is that?
One of my favourite accessories in this room are the white, faux fur, shag pillows that you can see behind my other favourite accessories (the Hubby and Wifey pillows!). They easily add a touch of glam to any room ( I actually have two on my living room arm chairs as well!). Try them out in your home, and see how quickly they transform your space. I found them, and most of the decor you see in this space from Home Sense.
The Hubby and Wifey pillows were a big hit! The gold lettering is very eye-catching, and people seem to notice it as soon as they walk in to the room. We loved them so much that we bought a second set of these pillows and gifted them to newly married couple who had us over for dinner. They absolutely loved them too!
I love adding trays with tea or coffee sets to a bedroom. It always makes the room feel cozy and inviting. In this case our guests actually got to use the tea set, so that was a great bonus!
The artwork you see was actually what inspired me to add gold to the guest bedroom. I was so lucky to find a piece that had teal and gold in it. As soon as I saw, I knew I had to have it! If you’ve read one of my previous posts ; the Secret to Style Any Space, then you will know that, to me, the artwork is the anchor of any room design. You find your colour scheme through the artwork you select, and it makes it super easy to coordinate the rest of the decor in the room. Check it out for more details on how to put together a room!
I hope you have enjoyed this quick tour of our first guest bedroom! The second guest bedroom will be coming up in a short while, so stay tuned!
